Volunteer Opportunities

We are primarily a volunteer-run organization. That means project organizers, fundraisers, event staff, office administrators, storytellers, and the nitty-gritty getting house projects done are all accomplished by volunteers who are generous with their time and talent.

Long story short, if you would like to get involved in some way with NeighborLink, we would be happy to have you on board and would love to have a conversation with you to find the perfect fit. Contact us!

See below for open and defined volunteer positions:

Time commitment: 1-time, 2-4 hours or project duration

At any given time we have hundreds of projects on our waiting list. If you know when you will have time available to help clean out a house, paint a wall, or any other number of odd-jobs, contact us and we will provide a senior and their project that could use a willing person, such as yourself.

Licensed Volunteer (a trade, plumbing, electrical, construction, etc.)

All of our clients are well below the poverty level and unable to hire the services of a licensed professional. When a project calls for it and we have the finances to support it, NeighborLink will pay for those services. However, if we are able to work with a licensed volunteer—either as a true volunteer or for a discounted price, we are grateful for it. If you're interested in volunteering time or speaking about a partnership, please contact us

Time commitment: 6-12 month commitment, 1-2 hours a week

If you don't mind calling a former or current client, a regular volunteer, or even a financial donor and having a chat with them about their experience with NeighborLink, then writing up a story for the blog, presentations, updates to our financial donors—this is the volunteer space for you. Contact us if you are interested.

Social Media Manager

We are on Facebook (because who isn't these days) but we would love to have volunteers willing and able to help post regularly, create & use video, live video, graphics, or other social media friendly tools to help give updates on projects and engage our volunteers on social media.

Time commitment: Continuous, 3-5 hours a week

Service Manager

We offer many services to the people we serve. Each of those services uses a coordinator to help determine the level of skill, volunteers available, and supplies needed to set those projects up. If you're a type-A kind of volunteer who loves a good spreadsheet—this may be a perfect fit, let us know.

Grant writer

You love research. Details are your thing. You also love being able to provide endless documentation to potential grantors who can enable our organization to accomplish serving hundreds of individuals. If this sounds like you, contact us.

Anything else

Do you have an idea of how you could volunteer for us? Let us know
