We're Hiring! Project Coordinator (BY Plus)

This role coordinates the projects and students for the BY Plus program. The BY Plus program provides construction work experience to young adults with the goal of helping them begin a career in construction or a construction-related field. The Project Coordinator is responsible for the planning and logistics related to weekly work experience projects in conjunction with other members of the NeighborLink team. The Project Coordinator will be present at each work experience project to assign and supervise the work. The Project Coordinator owns the planning, execution, and communication for BY Plus projects to ensure the work experience projects are successful.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Work with the Director of Operations and Director of Community and Partner Engagement to identify and plan projects to be completed by the BY Plus students

  • Purchase materials and tools as necessary for completion of projects

  • Coordinate materials, equipment, vehicles, and/or additional instructors (NeighborLink staff or professionals) for each project work day

  • Utilize Salesforce and VolunteerHub as necessary to manage projects

  • Other related NeighborLink project management responsibilities as needed

Supervision

  • Plan and assign work responsibilities to By Plus students on work experience days

  • Work with Indiana Construction Roundtable Navigators to monitor student attendance and performance

  • Managing students during work experience to ensure work is completed and skills are being developed

  • Conduct morning and end of day debriefs with students to communicate appropriate information

Administrative

  • Track expenses by project through submission of receipts at the end of each month

  • Contact homeowners to discuss scope of work and notify them when work will be completed

Team Coordination

  • Assess projects as needed

  • Serve as Site Supervisor/Project Lead on a limited basis

  • Assist in maintaining tool organization and storage of materials

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience in construction management

  • Organizational skills to maintain documentation and planning (including computer competency)

  • Ability to instruct and teach in a group setting

  • Willingness to work as part of a team with other Operations team members

  • Flexibility in working environment; position includes work from home and throughout Marion County

Preferred

  • OSHA Certified

  • Ability to tow a tools trailer

Supervises: BY Plus Students

Reports to: Director of Operations

Location: Indianapolis/Marion County

Terms: Salaried, Full-Time (40 hours per week)
